ScentVault Privacy Policy

ScentVault ("we", "us", or "our") is a fragrance collection and discovery app. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

1. Data We Collect

• Account information — email address and display name when you sign up.
• Fragrance data — fragrances you add to your collection, ratings, wear logs, and notes.
• Usage data — which features you use, to improve the app experience.
• Device sensors (optional) — heart rate via wearable devices, only if you grant permission.
• Camera (optional) — used only to scan fragrance bottles for identification. Images are processed and not stored.
• Location (optional) — used only for weather-based scent recommendations. Not stored.

2. How We Use Your Data

• To provide and improve the ScentVault app and its AI features.
• To generate personalized fragrance recommendations via Olfé, our AI assistant.
• To power community features (posts, follows, compliments) between users.
• We do not sell your data to third parties.

3. Third-Party Services

• Supabase — database and authentication (supabase.com/privacy).
• Anthropic — AI responses are processed via Anthropic's Claude API (anthropic.com/privacy). Fragrance queries are sent to their servers.
• Google Sign-In — optional authentication method.
• Apple Sign-In — optional authentication method (iOS only).

4. Data Retention

Your data is stored as long as your account is active. You may delete your account and all associated data at any time from the app's Settings screen.

5. Children's Privacy

ScentVault is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the new policy.
